Unlike our featured Official Convention Venues, Partner Venues are available to book on a first-come-first-serve basis. Remember to check back in periodically as we’ll continue to add new venues and remove spaces that no longer have availability during convention week. Official Convention Venues are the most sought after and premier venues in the Charlotte area. The RNC Official Convention Venues were carefully selected to showcase spaces that are unique to Charlotte, versatile for larger convention-related events, and/or are within walking distance to the main convention sites. Due to high demand, all Official Convention Venue bookings are facilitated by the Committee on Arrangements for the 2020 Republican National Convention (COA) Hotels & Venues Department.
In addition to the Official Convention Venues, the COA is introducing a new venue tier for the 2020 Republican National Convention: Partner Venues. For groups looking to secure venue space before spring of 2020 or are interested in full week buyout opportunities, a Partner Venue may be a better fit. The COA has partnerships with over 100 venues in the greater Charlotte area that are eager to host your RNC-related events. Unlike our Official Convention Venues, Partner Venues are available to book on a first-come-first-serve basis. Whether you’re looking to host a large-scale concert or an intimate dinner outside of the Uptown area, our wide-ranging and diverse list of Partner Venues is sure to have something for everyone.
Once you’ve determined your event details and have narrowed down your preferred Official Convention Venue(s) options, click on the “Book Official Venue” ribbon to the right of the homepage and complete the Official Convention Venue Request Form. If your group is planning to host multiple events, please complete a separate request form for each event.
Remember to indicate on the request form if your event date and time are flexible. The COA Hotels & Venues Department wants to accommodate as many events as possible at our Official Convention Venues. Flexible event dates and times allow our team to shuffle groups around, and ultimately, accommodate more events throughout the week.

Once you’ve submitted your Official Convention Venue Request Form, a member of the COA Hotels & Venues Department will follow up to confirm your event details, answer any additional questions about the booking process, and discuss your next steps.
We understand that many groups do not have their event needs finalized until closer to convention and hotel assignments oftentimes determine venue needs. Therefore, Official Convention Venues assignments will not be released until early spring of 2020. This timeline allows groups more time to finalize their specific event needs with the added assurance that quality venues will still be available.
Both Official Convention Venues and Partner Venues have unique advantages. Ultimately, your venue selection should be driven by your event needs and timeline.
Official Convention Venues are more geared towards larger one-off events that really showcase Charlotte and provide guests with a unique and special experience. Because of their later request and assignment timeline, Official Convention Venues give groups more time to finalize specific event details, while also allowing them to coordinate venues around their hotel assignments.
The COA Hotels & Venues Department has personally toured hundreds of venues in Charlotte to select the Official Convention Venues and Partner Venues listed. The Hotels & Venues Department aims to serve as a strong resource in the venue selection process and provide in-depth knowledge of event spaces and guidance on availability.

For Partner Venues, you can work directly with the venue contact listed in this guide to set up a time to tour their space. If you are interested in touring multiple Partner Venues, the Hotels & Venues Department is happy to connect with you first to discuss how to maximize your time in Charlotte.
Once you’ve been assigned to an Official Convention Venue, you will be notified via email of your venue assignment and timeslot. If you’re interested in moving forward, the Hotels & Venues Department will connect you directly with the appropriate venue contact to begin discussing your event in more detail. Once your event details are confirmed with the venue, you will enter into a contract directly with the venue.
If you are not interested in moving forward with your allotted Official Convention Venue, please notify the Hotels & Venues Department within ten days of assignment so that other groups may have the opportunity to use the time slot.
Partner Venues are required to notify and receive approval from the Committee on Arrangements before a venue contract can be executed. Groups will be asked to disclose general information about their event before a venue is released. All event information will be kept confidential and will only be used internally to track remaining availability and the overall footprint.
Before you begin filling out city permits for your venue, the Charlotte Fire Department recommends that you first reach out to their team for initial guidance. Any written communication to a City employee is subject to North Carolina’s public records law.
