Official Convention Venues consist of some of the largest and most versatile spaces in Charlotte. If you’re looking for an event venue that truly showcases the “Queen City,” submit your venue request today! Official Convention Venues will be released on a rolling basis, beginning early spring of 2020, and are available to all relevant third-parties planning events around the convention. To book your Official Convention Venue, please complete the request form with your event details.
The Committee on Arrangements for the 2020 Republican National Convention has partnerships with over 100 venues in the greater Charlotte area. Unlike our featured Official Convention Venues, Partner Venues are available to book on a first-come-first-serve basis. Remember to check back in periodically as we’ll continue to add new venues and remove spaces that no longer have availability during convention week. If you’re interested in any of our Partner Venues below, please reach out directly to the venue contacts to learn more about their space capabilities, event pricing, and availability during the 2020 Republican National Convention.

Once hotel assignments are announced in the spring of 2020, an interactive tool will be added that will allow you to explore venue options based on your specific hotel location.
Official Convention Venues are the most sought after and premier venues in the Charlotte area. The RNC Official Convention Venues were carefully selected to showcase spaces that are unique to Charlotte, versatile for larger convention-related events and/or are within walking distance to the main convention sites. Due to high demand, all Official Convention Venue bookings are facilitated by the Committee on Arrangements for the 2020 Republican National Convention (COA) Hotels & Venues Department.
In addition to the Official Convention Venues, the COA is introducing a new venue tier for the 2020 Republican National Convention: Partner Venues. For groups looking to secure venue space before spring of 2020 or are interested in full week buyout opportunities, a Partner Venue may be a better fit. The COA has partnerships with over 100 venues in the greater Charlotte area that are eager to host your RNC-related events. Unlike our Official Convention Venues, Partner Venues are available to book on a first-come-first-serve basis. Whether you’re looking to host a large-scale concert or an intimate dinner outside of the Uptown area, our wide-ranging and diverse list of Partner Venues is sure to have something for everyone.
Once you’ve determined your event details and have narrowed down your preferred Official Convention Venue(s) options, click on the “Book Official Venue” ribbon to the right of the homepage and complete the Official Convention Venue Request Form. If your group is planning to host multiple events, please complete a separate request form for each event.
Remember to indicate on the request form if your event date and time are flexible. The COA Hotels & Venues Department wants to accommodate as many events as possible at our Official Convention Venues. Flexible event dates and times allow our team to shuffle groups around, and ultimately, accommodate more events throughout the week.
If you’d prefer to set up a one-on-one consultation with a member on the COA Hotels & Venues Department prior to completing the formal venue request form, please email email@example.com or complete the form at the bottom of the homepage.
Once you’ve submitted your Official Convention Venue Request Form, a member of the COA Hotels & Venues Department will follow up to confirm your event details, answer any additional questions about the booking process and discuss your next steps.
We understand that many groups do not have their event needs finalized until closer to convention and hotel assignments oftentimes determine venue needs. Therefore, Official Convention Venues assignments will not be released until early spring of 2020. This timeline allows groups more time to finalize their specific event needs with the added assurance that quality venues will still be available.
Both Official Convention Venues and Partner Venues have unique advantages. Ultimately, your venue selection should be driven by your event needs and timeline.
Official Convention Venues are more geared towards larger one-off events that really showcase Charlotte and provide guests with a unique and special experience. Because of their later request and assignment timeline, Official Convention Venues give groups more time to finalize specific event details, while also allowing them to coordinate venues around their hotel assignments.
The COA Hotels & Venues Department has personally toured hundreds of venues in Charlotte to select the Official Convention Venues and Partner Venues listed. The Hotels & Venues Department aims to serve as a strong resource in the venue selection process and provide in-depth knowledge of event spaces and guidance on availability.
The COA is committed to providing hands-on support throughout the entire venue booking process. If you’re interested in a one-on-one phone consultation to discuss your venue needs or have specific questions you’d like addressed, please email the COA Hotels & Venues Department directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or submit your contact information and question(s) at the bottom of the homepage. The Hotels & Venues Department will respond to your inquiries.
To schedule a tour of an Official Convention Venue, please contact email@example.com and the Hotels & Venues Department will reach out to facilitate these venue tours.
For Partner Venues, you can work directly with the venue contact listed in this guide to set up a time to tour their space. If you are interested in touring multiple Partner Venues, the Hotels & Venues Department is happy to connect with you first to discuss how to maximize your time in Charlotte.
Once you’ve been assigned to an Official Convention Venue, you will be notified via email of your venue assignment and timeslot. If you’re interested in moving forward, the Hotels & Venues Department will connect you directly with the appropriate venue contact to begin discussing your event in more detail. Once your event details are confirmed with the venue, you will enter into a contract directly with the venue.
If you are not interested in moving forward with your allotted Official Convention Venue, please notify the Hotels & Venues Department within ten days of assignment so that other groups may have the opportunity to use the time slot.
Partner Venues are required to notify and receive approval from the Committee on Arrangements before a venue contract can be executed. Groups will be asked to disclose general information about their event before a venue is released. All event information will be kept confidential and will only be used internally to track remaining availability and the overall footprint.

Our Online Vendor Guide showcases local North Carolina and South Carolina vendors that provide a myriad of services to help with your RNC-related event(s). Please note that use of outside vendors is at the discretion of your venue; make sure to connect with your venue prior to contracting any outside vendor as many venues have exclusive vendor agreements in place.
To access the Online Vendor Guide, scroll down to the bottom of this homepage and click "Vendor Directory" or visit 2020venues.com/vendors. You can sort by vendor category (i.e. catering, security, transportation, event planning, etc.) and then click on individual thumbnails for each vendor to learn more about their services.
The Host Committee and the Committee on Arrangements have no obligation to update you on any information regarding vendors shown on here, nor make any representation or warranty about such vendors, their products or services or otherwise. Any business relationship with any vendors or service providers, or any goods or services provided, are not the responsibility of the Host Committee or the Committee on Arrangements, and you should conduct your own due diligence and research on whether or not to use such vendors.
As we have done throughout our planning, we will ensure the convention prioritizes the health and safety of delegates, media, guests and community members. In light of COVID-19, all major public events will require new processes and protective measures, and we are engaged with the relevant stakeholders who will be helping to develop those guidelines. We continue to take steps to ensure the safety and health of all attendees while communicating with federal, state and local health experts in our planning.
We are proud to have a leading national health security official, Jeffrey W. Runge, MD, FACEP, serving as a Senior Advisor for Health and Safety Planning. Dr. Runge’s background and expertise will be instrumental as we continue to map out our plans for a safe and successful in person convention – prioritizing the health of convention participants and the Charlotte community.
We have great transparency with our Official Convention Venues and Partner Venues and will ensure that we are communicating the appropriate preventative measures that attendees and venues should follow in regard to special event planning and execution.
Fortunately, we have consistently remained ahead of schedule with our planning. We have fantastic partners in Charlotte and beyond helping to ensure that this convention is a five-star event and the economic boost local businesses need.
As part of the mission statement of the Charlotte Host Committee, and in partnership with the Committee on Arrangements, the Vendor Directory is a tool to highlight local businesses for entities and individuals looking for convention related services. The companies listed within the directory are included because they registered via the Host Committee Vendor Registration Site and have communicated an interest in working for the 2020 Republican National Convention.
